NEPOREX 2 SG is a granular formulation larvicide, suitable for scattering, or disolving and pouring or spraying.
NEPOREX 2 SG's lower concentration formulation makes it suitable for use in smaller operations, primarily:
NEPOREX contains cyromazine, a chemical which attacks fly larvae and prevents them from shedding their skins. Since this is an essential part of larval development, NEPOREX prevents fly larvae turning into flies.
Cyromazine belongs to a different chemical group than traditional adulticide fly control products, and is therefore capable of killing flies which are resistant to such treatments.

Efficacy
Studies have shown that NEPOREX prevents 100% of fly larvae developing into adult flies (strain WHO), when used at a concentration of only 5 parts per million (0.0005%).

In the above study, larvae which hatched in an untreated medium were transferred at the respective stages to a medium containing 5ppm (i.e. 0.0005%) cyromazine.
The number of hatched flies were counted and mortality calculated. *Note that 17% mortality in the untreated control is a normal mortality rate for Muscae domestica.
Re-treatment
The re-treatment interval depends on the animal and manure management system in use, as well as climatic conditions. In some cases, treatment will be required every 2-3 weeks. In others, only twice a year.
Predators
NEPOREX does not kill natural predators of flies, allowing them to play their important role in the Anti-Fly Program.
